Why Does YAH Command Us To Count The Omer?

Leviticus 23:15–16 (TLV) 15“Then you are to count from the morrow after the Shabbat, from the day that you brought the omer of the wave offering, seven complete Shabbatot. 16 Until the morrow after the seventh Shabbat you are to count fifty days, and then present a new grain offering to ADONAI.   The commandments in Leviticus do not explain why we must count the omer. Adonai could have just set the date, but Scripture leads you to believe it is to determine when you will make the grain offering. Let us look at this command’s time frame for counting the omer. We start counting the omer after the Passover. At Passover, we are told to remember how Adonai took us out of Egypt. What happened after Yah led us out of Egypt? We find that in   Exodus 16. The Book of Acts records all their works.   John 14:12–14 (TLV) 12“Amen, amen I tell you, he who puts his trust in Me, the works that I do he will do; and greater than these he will do, because I am going to the Father. 13 And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask Me anything in My name, I will do it.”    In John 17 , Adonai prayed for you and me. His prayer to the Father was that we would all be one with Yeshua and the Father. His desire f...
